Attorney Profile
Denton M. Hatch
I have 24 years of personal injury trial experience.
My experience includes 15 years
working for insurance companies on the defense side where I
evaluated many personal injury claims to determine the settlement
value for insurance companies, helped the insurance companies set
reserves, and litigated many serious injury cases for insurance
companies. For over 10 years I have been on the plaintiff's side,
and the experience representing insurance companies gives me a
substantial advantage now I am on the other side opposing the
insurance companies, because I know how the insurance companies
evaluate each injury claim, litigate each injury claim, and
determine the settlement value of each injury claim.
As lead counsel, I have handled
numerous serious injury cases including all kinds of accident
cases, malpractice cases, products liability, and other personal
injury cases. I know what is required to present a case so that
plaintiff can recover what he or she deserves.
I have been admitted to practice
in, and litigated and appeared in, every court in the State of
Utah (District, Appellate, and Utah Supreme Court), and every
Federal Court (Utah District, Tenth Circuit, and Supreme Court of
the United States). I have been in good standing since being
admitted to each of these courts. Although other attorneys in the
Provo area have been admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme
Court, I am the only attorney I know who has practiced and argued
before the U.S. Supreme Court.
I have deposed many experts and
hired many experts, and I have access to many experts including
accident engineers, doctors, and many others. This is important
because almost all plaintiffs' cases rely on expert testimony.
I graduated from BYU law school
with honors, and had the privilege of clerking for a Utah federal
judge before beginning practice. I am president-elect for
2005-2006 of the Central Utah Bar Association which is an
organization of about 500 attorneys in Central Utah.
